Trinity Health Care of New England and Cigna have finally reached a multiple year agreement that will reestablish Trinity Health Care of New England providers into the Cigna network retroactive to January 1, 2024. The agreement applies to St. Francis Hospital, Mount Sinai Rehabilitation Hospital and Trinity Health of New England Medical Group providers in Connecticut which had expired Jan. 1st. Additionally, the new agreement will apply to St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury and Johnson Memorial Hospital in Stafford, whose agreements were set to expire on April 30th. Cigna members will again have in-network access to these providers beginning on March 1st.
We will review claims and reprocess any as necessary. Claims that have already been submitted and processed do not need to be re-submitted. Claims incurred between the contract term date of January 1, 2024 and March 1, 2024, will be processed at the in-network benefit level.
