dg-takebackday-blogThe Drug Enforcement Association (DEA) has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day for this Saturday, October 22nd. Between 10am and 2pm you can take any unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs to a participating collection site near you for the medications to be safely disposed of.

The first Take-Back Day was in 2010 with the intention of providing a safe and convenient way for people to dispose of their accumulated prescription drugs. The day also creates an opportunity to educate the public of the potential for abuse of medications. Since 2010, over 6 million pounds of unwanted or expired medications have been turned over for proper disposal at more than 6,000 sites.
